    Hi All

I have been working in Ireland for 8 years (originally from N I) I currently work part time and my oh is on JA. My OH has been offered a job in N Ireland and he is due to start in @4 weeks. We had planned that he will live there during the week with my family and return at weekends to ROI.

Problem is if he takes this job I will have to quit mine as we have 3 kids and cannot afford childcare. If I quit can I make a claim for JB? If his job works out and we want to move there permanently can I transfer my JB to N Ireland?

My OH would love to take this job as he has been without work for 3 years now and is loosing his mind at home with the kids! I would love to be at home with the kids so it would be a good move for us - trouble is we have NO savings and unless I am able to receive JB we couldn't afford to take the risk of him giving up his JA.

Any advice would be really appreciated.

As you are giving up your job to be a stay at home mother, you would not be able to claim Jobseekers benefit. JSB is a payment for those available for and looking for full time work.
