On the manufacters website there are 2 different model numbers fro PAL and
NTSC.
I would suspect this is an NTSC model
Also It possibly is 110 V as it is from the States,,,


But I may be wrong on both counts!

pal and ntsc provided for, 110V-240V, US 110V lead supplied, will there be a hit at customs for this device.

PAL or NTSC are only relevant for the analogue output (composite). For HDMI there is no regions.

And if you are using the analogue out you can switch easily from PAL to NTSC in the menu.

So the only difference is the adaptor. You will need a 220v one.

The non-refurb was going for £66 the other day on Amazon, that's the cheapest ive seen it, about €85. So there is a decent saving but if you get hit for customs you'll easily pay €15-20 what with vat and admin/clearance fees.

Also the warranty is US only.

I Ordered one, and have been asked to buy a asked to buy a second. (I could have got it for $10 to add item, but maybe would've payed more in duty?)

I looked, obviously just didn't see it. Gonna see if it's not too late to cancel mine. Closest i saw was £90 and shipping. I can't remember where, but that was the cheapest.

Sorry, I find this a bit confusing. It's the older models that don't have the chip to allow Netflix. What did you buy and return?

Great also if you're a household that has a TV from the 90s.. works fine. You just need a SCART adaptor for the Video\Left\Right inputs.

It's not the same model, it's a newer one i think. Not entirely sure what the difference is, other than one is "Live PLUS", and the DABS one is just "Live".

I have the WDTV Live Streaming.

Think its the latest model. Great product. nice UI and plays MKV's and MP4's in HD over wifi without any issues. Have a basic eircom router, not using gigabit ethernet or wireless-n.

You're blessed, these yokes give nothing but trouble. Over on WD Forums they've spent a year telling people with problems to update the firmware-->update the firmware yadda yadda, new firmware out every couple of weeks.

Wasn't working so now they're telling people to reset back to original firmware and play stuff off of externals only. Which doesn't fix the problem either, mkv, iso, TS Folders, 720p, 1080p and wireless problems galore.

WD are to busy trying to push out online apps than to get the stupid thing to work right.

I bought one of the WDTV Live Streaming devices back in April, works brilliant, it worked straight out of the box so i didn't update the firmware (if its not broke...) Set up an account with us-unblock and been watching US netflix flat-out since.

I only had one dealing with WD support, my old machine stop working about 18 months after purchase, they asked me for a serial number and posted a new one out within 5 days. Really cant say a bad work about any of their media players.
