1 year away In US,still entitled to jobseekers allowance/benefits?

    Hi,
    I used to work in Dublin for last 5 years but moved to US last year.Since then i've been working temporary jobs and my current one will be finished by september.i'm going back to Dublin later this autumn.can i consider myself being entitled to jobseeker benefits/allowance?

    You will have to fulfil the habitual residence condition. If you can convince them that Ireland is your main 'centre of interest'. If you are Irish born and bred then you shouldn't have much difficulty. If you are a non national it still may not be an issue, but may hinge on whether you have family in Ireland. If you have been here the past 5 years before u went to US then id say u might be ok

    well,i still have some employment connections left in dublin.it's just may take a while to get back to work in dublin and in meantime i'll need some funds to support myself.the plan is to get back to ireland for good and enroll to DCU in few years.
