Co-habiting + means testing

    Hello,

Newbie here, looking for some advise please :)

Partner has been on JA for 2 yrs and moved in with me a couple of months ago. He has been claiming his JA in his home town but now lives in rented accomodation with me in Dublin. Naturally, he needs to advise SW about this change in living arrangements. I pay the rent and earn a decent wage (though only on a nice salary until March 2013, as it's a maternity contract position and I'll revert back to a much lower wage when I return to my old position with my current employer).

Can I ask for advise as to how to proceed with SW - particularly around means testing? I have checked other posts and it would seem that he won't be entitled to any payments as my current wage is too high.

Any advise would be much appreciated.

    Thank you :)

when he gives his new address, he will be re-means tested and if you earn about more than 450euro per week he may get nothing. When you get your lower wage you can ask to be remeans tested.
