    Hi,

We've had a hedgehog living under our shed in the back garden for the last few weeks. She seems happy out, we've been feeding her cat biscuits and water off and on, lots of slugs in the garden and did'nt want her becoming completely dependent on us for food.

Early this week, two small hoglets appeared in the garden too and have been rummaging around eating slugs and wandering about at night. Only thing is today, both the hoglets have been out in the garden during broad daylight. From the bit of research we did online, it seems to be a bad sign if hedgehogs are out during daylight. The mother hog has never appeared apart from dusk/nighttime but we're wondering if its normal for hoglets to maybe wander around a bit during the day..without necessarily meaning anything is wrong with them?
We'll leave some more food and water out tonight and wait to see what happens,we're concerned the mother might be gone and thats why the hoglets are milling about during the day, but mother hog was fine last night.
Anyone any expertise on this they'd like to share??!
    Thanks!

We fed our 2 little visitors some cat food and some watered down milk,as they seemed to be hungry.

They stayed around for about a week, and then they obviously went on to pastures new.:)

Milk is really not good for hedgehogs. I know you said its watered down.

It was very well watered own (more milky coloured water, than watery milk).

We gave that to them for the 1st evening, and then after that we just gave them water.

    Beautifull little creatures indeed.:D
