    Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for gluing a wood to concrete. Would be looking for as strong a glue/bond as possible.

    Thanks

My instinct would be a polyurethane glue.

I've used the tubes of liquid nail type product in the past with great success.. In our first house I laid a pitch pine plank floor in a sitting room with it... That was 15 years ago and I saw it recently and its good as the first day...

Epoxy resin will stick wood to concrete, I know because I did it by mistake :D

Tech7 will do the trick as well. But needs 24 hours to develop full strength

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but I need to do something similar.

I need to put up a stud wall (won't be holding anything heavy) but can't nail/screw into the floor for the base due to UFH pipes.

Would the glues mentioned above be suitable for this? Also - should I seal the concrete prior to gluing? If so - with what?

i would rougher up the surface with a grinder . cut slots in the concrete.
there is a glue I used lately called PU5 . its great stuff. amazing strength.

I would only use this on the bottom. you will want to really secure the top plate and along the ends. I would lag bolt or use proper straps to hold the top.

I would plywood both sides of the stud in an attempt to spread any force from the bottom to the sides and top.

don't hang any doors in a stud like this

Thanks - will look into PU5.

Top and sides won't be a problem as I have the ceiling joists and walls to screw into. It's actually for pocket doors, but most of the weight will be out of the ceiling.

    pocket doors would be ok.
it was the weight swinging out I was worried about
