Lads I've been looking at getting a HDTV for my ps3, what specs should I be looking at?

The local know it all in the pub says I'm wasting my time getting a 50hz TV that a 100 HZ is essential.

I'm working off a strict budget and had my eye on this telly

The TV you listed is 720p and has 2 HDMI ports. That should work fine with a PS3.

The hz figure is only really relevant if you want to view 3D movies and games.

that tv is perfect for playing the PS3 plus it has saorview built in which means you are saving at least 50euro because you dont need a set top box when analogue tv ends later in the year.

The one I listed is 22 inch too?

Although yours has 1080p resolution and mine only 720, what difference is that?

1080p is just a higher resolution. It means you get a sharper image than 720p.

    1080p - 1920x1080
    720p - 1280x720

When people say full HD, they usually mean 1080p.

However, many games on PS3 cannot take advantage of the 1080p resolution anyway. Most games run at 720p. You only need 1080p if you are playing the few games that do run at 1080p or if you watch Blu-Ray movies.

I wouldn't worry too much about 720p vs 1080p if you're only talking about a 22" screen. Needs to be a lot bigger than that before most people can tell the difference.

I'm pretty sure you can't get a 1080p picture on a screen that small and cheap. I'd say the TV takes the 1080p input and downscales it to 720p anyway.

That's what I thought but when I Googled it this morning the results I got back seemed to suggest otherwise

What does "With Live Pause And Record Ready" mean on Walker specs?
    Thanks

That if you plug in a USB stick/drive you can use it to pause rewind and record what you are watching.
