One nom for Glee - Best Guest Actress in a ComedyDot-Marie Jones aka Beiste :p I do think Naya Rivera and Max Adler and guest star Matt Bomer were unfairly snubbed for Glee all were excellent in Season 3 :(

Still no Emmy love for Nick Offerman, John Noble, Luck, Happy Endings and Sons of Anarchy

Very surprised by Hugh Laurie and Kelsey Grammer's best actor drama snubs

Giancarlo Esposito has gotta win for 'Breaking Bad'.. his work in season 4 was superb!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,159 ✭✭✭✭phasers

I just... I don't understand why the... Ah fcuk off Emmy people. Modern Family's most recent season was utter shyte but it still gets all the bleedin actor spots, and a best comedy nomination. It's bollocks.

Every year I think it will be different, but it never is.

I bet Remedial Chaos Theory will lose to some crappy poorly written dreck too.

I think these noms are all paid for in kickbacks....much like the Globes.

Because it'd have a bigger chance of winning there than in drama..

.. Ryan Murphy's excuse (as below) is absolute twaddle!
Ryan Murphy and company opted to submit “American Horror Story” for Emmy consideration in the miniseries category. Their argument: As an “anthology” series, one that will reboot itself in season two with all new characters, it could be considered a miniseries and a drama. Emmy bought that argument, allowing “AHS” to compete in a (slightly) less competitive field than the best drama race.

I think Outstanding Writing for a Comedy is going to have to be the real Best Comedy award ;) I can't believe Community didn't get nominated for any others, but it's not surprising.

Are the Modern Family actors that good that what looks like the entire cast is nominated? I've watched a few eps, but it's not exactly wowed me... I'd say Kathryn Joosten is prob a dead cert for Best Supporting Actress (comedy). Best Drama is going to be hard to predict imo.

IMO it is between Homeland and Breaking Bad and I think Homeland will win

I know a lot of people on here hate all of Big Bang Theory but even by those standards the latest season was dog ****. surprised no Louie for best comedy.

    I don't understand the Emmys...

.. Homeland is nominated 2 years running despite it only have one season!

I couldn't figure out who Margaret Cho was in 30 Rock so I googled it and it turns out she was Kim Jong Il. LOL!

They seriously need to introduce a 'best supporting actor in Modern Family' category.

Even though I feel bad that Jake Johnson and Lamorne Morris from New Girl were snubbed, I hope Max Greenfield wins best supporting comedy actor

but yeah Homeland will win :D

how did big bang get nominated, its going downhill FAST, and its more or less guaranteed 3 or 4 more seasons, i think when most shows get that kind of success they take there foot off the humor,

also no sign of justified, i thought it was a good season, as was person of interest,

Michael J Fox has 2 nominations for 2 different shows . (Guest starring on Curb & The Good Wife)

Breaking Bad was on another level this season, it should sweep up. If Homeland wins it'll be because it's a new show. I love GoT (and Mad Men) but season 4 of Breaking Bad just nailed everything.

A good few miniseries nominations are in the wrong category, most likely because they haven't got a snowball's chance In the drama category.

Martha Plimpton won best guest actress in a drama for her
return to The Good Wife, and Kathy Bates took home best guest actress in a
comedy for playing the spirit of Charlie Harper on Two and a Half Men. Bates,
who is also nominated for best actress in a drama for Harry's Law, is the first
woman to win an Emmy for playing a man. The win is her first after 10
    nominations.

Best guest actor in a drama series went to Jeremy Davies
for Justified. Jimmy Fallon was named best guest actor in a comedy for his turn
as host of Saturday Night Live — his first time hosting after starring on the
    show for six years.

Channel 5 have confirmed that they will air highlights of the 64th Annual Primtime Emmy Awards, one day after they air in America.
The ceremony – hosted by Jimmy Kimmel – will air on NBC at 8e/5p, on September 23rd, but will be condensed into a two-hour highlights programme for 5USA. The highlights will air from 10pm-12am on September 24th.

I'm a little confused about Sherlock being a miniseries. Is the whole second season called "Scandal at Belgravia", or are they counting the three episodes in it as individual miniseries?

As I understand it, all shows have to submit a single episode for consideration in a category as an example so they picked Scandal in Belgravia but awards are for the whole thing.

Great to see Aaron Paul get another one - "Yeah! Bitch! Emmies!" - well deserved!

And also good to see Damian Lewis get one also after losing out to Kelsey Grammar at the Golden Globes earlier this year.

But what's this fascination with the Emmys and Modern Family? Seriously... last year was pretty damn hit and miss.

Jesse Pinkman is my favourite BB character overall but Giancarlo Esposito deserved it this year, Gus Fring is a tv character that broke the mould

Disappointed BB did not win more, but I guess three years in a row for Bryan Cranston will still be hard to beat. Definitely think it had better directing than Boardwalk Empire though, "To the Lost" was a very memorable episode but "Face Off" was incredible.

Delighted for Jessica Lange and Julianne Moore, both great performances

I can see Homeland being the big winner here for a few years, the show has the sort of subject matter that will make it very popular come award nights, and a very good cast.

Jimmy Kimmel was a terrible host

They should get Amy Poehler to host next year
