Speed Check Cop Waving on traffic to speed up?

Was driving on N11 few days ago. Speed check in the usual place near the Montrose.

Cars were all going slightly under 60 km/h - usually this happens in a knock on effect so unless you are the first car you should see slow moving traffic and slow down knowing what's probably ahead

The cop walks into the middle of the road and I double checked speed - about 55 km/h on speedo - he then beckons people to move on the way a cop directing traffic would do

Makes you wonder if speed traps are about slowing people down :)

55 on the speedo is probably 50km/h. The idea is to stop people from speeding, not to turn them into tortoises.
