Ticket Checking

Okay, I get why there needs to be ticket inspectors on trains - too many skangers who want to travel for free.

But I travel every day up to Dublin for work and there is no chance of getting off without showing the 4 grand's worth of plastic I have to the nice machine.

So then, why the f**k does the ticket inspector wake me up one stop away frpm Heuston to check my ticket ?? This is at 7.15am when I've been on the go since 5am ???

LEAVE ME ALONE YOU OFFICIOUS LITTLE JOBSWORTH.

Go annoy people on another train who are likely to rob off you, NOT hardworking commuters.

1 stop? Wouldn't you be grateful for the wake up call?

    No!!!

It's Celbridge - so like 15 mins to go still.

Woke me up from a lovely dream involving Brian O'Driscoll and a packet of jaffa cakes.

You don't get those moments back!:)

Unfortunately train drivers have to start off doing this in IE before they even get to driver training.

If there was no ticket checking and no inspector doing there job you would be annoyed you paid your fare but the person sitting across from you travelled for free. I would much prefer them checking like you said they do then the way its done on dublinbus where little/no checks are done.

    There should be more checks.
Just because someone dresses smart doesn't mean they payed for their travel.

What about the person fraudulently using a social welfare pass? The "children" with child tickets? The "students" who aren't students? The person who purchased a ticket for a tenner who shouldn't be on the particular service? I'd be more annoyed with these people escaping an inspectors attention. Are Irish Rail just going to trust that all these people are above board?

ow is the inspector to know who you are, what you do and what ticket you have?

How are you hard working if you are asleep? :pac:

If you want, get a suitable card holder and put it around your neck. http://spiritduck.uoduckstore.com/Oregon_vs_Auburn_BCS_Ticket_Holder_with_Lanyard_p/03208519702.htm
