Data recovery on Macbook

    Hello

I've just had the second harddrive on my Macbook 13.3 give up on me.

Powering up it makes a loud clicking noise followed by the empty folder icon.

There's some stuff on it that I'd like to save.

Can anyone recommend what to do?

Programs, methods or companies that can retrieve the data?

    Thanks in advance.

    Try target disc mode.

Connect it to another mac with a firewire cable then press the on button then press and hold down the T key until this shows on the screen.

Then your HDD will show on the other mac desktop.
Copy what you need off it.

You could also open up the macbook, remove the HDD, put that HDD into an enclosure, and plug the enclosure into another computer

    Thanks for replies thus far.

I'll put them into action if I can.

Actual professional data recovery seems very expensive.
