    Aside from how secure it is, it looks like you have to unscrew the pedal every time you want to lock your bike.

    Looks like there's some kind of rachet mechanism built into in the pedal body, so when you want to screw it off, you push the pedal body inward and then you can (theoretically) unscrew it by hand.
    Not liking the consequences when you unwittingly knock the pedal off a wall and then try to ride it...

    Ultimately it fails to address the problem that most bike thieves aren't aiming for a quick getaway and will happily just lift your bike and walk away with it.
