Sprinting and Explosiveness

    Alright

I want to pose a question to anyone with experience of racing over a number of seasons.

Its my first season, and I'm currently riding category four with the Dublin Wheelers.
Since taking up cycling competitively last winter I've found that my time trialing and climbing have improved them most whereas I've found that my sprinting hasn't improved hugely. In bunch sprints I can keep up but not stand out in particular.

As regards to build I'm tall and lean rather than short and muscular so I realise that I haven't the build for sprinting but I still need to improve my explosiveness for breaking away and climbing etc.

Does anyone have a similar experience? And is there any specific training for sprinting that's more effective than other methods?
