Aerator - ground compaction

With all the poor weather and compaction of ground from stock and machinery, does anyone have any plans to try an aerator / do some mole ploughing assuming land dries out.

We have a mole plough which we use before ploughing ground and from time to time on grassland. I think this does a pretty good job however it can leave the ground a little bumpy afterwards.

I was thinking about buying one of these aerators - anyone have any experience of using one do they reduce the compaction near the surface.

I have a 3m (10ft) one i got last November. Used it in November (new toy ) and again in Feb and i had my cattle out 1st March and silage cut 28 May this year (Im a hobby/part timer)

It has greatly improved my wet land. Going to run it over a few places on sat morning before slurry sat/sun. Defo improved my fert intake also in Feb.

Rent it out to you for €100 a day ;)
