    Hi all,
My 2000 opel corsa failed NCT for emissions.
    here are the details
    limits

Low Idle my readings co 6.44 vol% above 0.50% fail
    (970 rpm)

High Idle my readings Lambada 0.82 not between 0.97&1.03 fail
    (2790 rpm) CO 6.62 vol% above 0.30% fail
HC 325 ppm above 200 ppm fail

Could any one advise me where is the problem?
I took to my local garage but he does not know what's wrong? suggested to change the exahust.

Does any one know good garage for emissions in south dublin?

    Thanks

That's very, very high. TBH you'd probably be better off changing the car, unless it's a low mileage one all new bits and pieces but in my experience with cars with emissions that high you'll just end up throwing money at it.

First, I'd get a new garage as they mustn't have much of an understanding about how an engine works.

The car is running too rich looking at those results. A faulty MAF is a common issue on the Corsa's but you could have a misfire or some other issue.

The engine management would be on if the MAF was gone surely?

They're cheap new anyway, 54 quid all in.

Not always on the Corsa, if it fails completely, i.e sends no signal then the light will come one but the Corsa/GM ones are prone to degrading and giving poor/false readings to the ECU.

Dont go back to that garage again...as Nissan Doctor suggested I would replace the MAF.

Has the car been serviced recently ?
