The supporting layer of a roadway.

Every day is a school day. What part of the country are you in?

you definitely need a extraction license aka planning permission, what I may do is extract plenty of trunking (good few years worth) and leave it stockpiled on the quite along a hedge close by and move at a later date when you won't be bring dirt onto road

As above,Friday evening, plenty of diesel and grease to hand and have at it.
By Sunday evening you'll have a fine mountain of trunking,if asked plead ignorance :D

You can move up to 30,000 ton within your own holding without a permit. That was what the council told me when a local busy body tried to cause me a few problems. But i have found councils all differ from area to area. get someone to ring council who wants to do the same as you (but not you). that way you can plead ignorance if anything happens.
