My boyfriend and I have decided to start saving to elope next year to New York. We're informed about necessary paperwork but we'd appreciate some tips on how to plan the day.

We're considering a Civil ceremony in Central Park, and hoping to book a photographer for 2 hours to take pictures in the park, and to hop into a cab with us to some other picturesque areas and take some more.

For after the wedding, we were thinking of a carriage ride around the park. For dinner, we've heard good things about Maze, Gordon Ramsay's restaurant. After that, I'm not too sure. Would love to go to a club like Ronnie Scotts in London, somewhere with amazing musicians, and drinks flowing, and some element of class. Don't want to spend my wedding evening in a bar with drunk people spilling drinks on my dress :).

    So, any recommendations for:

Officiate (we've found one who'll marry us for 300 dollars, but suggestions welcome)
Photographers (We found one who'll charge $550 for two hours, but I'm not too keen on the photos they have on their site. Some are great, and some look like any randomer with a digital camera could have taken them. Have you found a great photographer?
Any restaurants you'd recommend or venues to have a great time.

Ultimately, we just want an amazing day, something special for just the two of us.

    Thanks all.

havent a clue about this but would be intereted to get more information

just found this on google - not sure how good this hotel is but if you have a few hotels in mind that you would like to stay in they also may do something similar

not sure how price stacks up to your budget (looks a bit pricey I think) but they do provide a photographer so might be no harm ringing as if you were interested and getting the name and check them out yourself then

this might also help re having ceremony in central park http://www.cityclerk.nyc.gov/html/marriage/ceremony.shtml

Also in terms of restuarants / clubs - tripadvisor forums may help with this?

We got engaged in NY and for a nice meal went to rivercafe - great views of the skyline at night:

We also had a steak in a restaruant called BLT steakhouse, and that was really nice too.
