have a few minor dents on a car I'm looking to sell on....couple of years back it got snowballed by a crowd of fkn gobst teenagers during the snow...the car itself is grand but the dents let it down badly. have been reading up on PDR and have seen now that a couple of companies now in Dublin offering the service...thing is though you can buy the kit to do this online for very reasonable money and DIY...I'm sure you need a bit of skill and a good touch but it really doesn't seem too difficult...but I'm caught in 2 minds

anyone been in my boat before and if so what happened?

    thanks

I think Owen on here used to do it, he'll probably advise you best. Its not something I'd attempt myself though personally.

    It's expensive AFAIK.

If I remember correctly my brother was asking 80 euro for one dent on his boot, wasn't anything major either.

I've had it done a lot cheaper but at a different side of the country. €40-50 usually covers a decent sized one. €80 is very steep imo but if it's a new customer and they call out not too unreasonable.

thanks for everyone's help...the couple of quotes I've had now helped me make up my mind....everyone has to make a living I agree but...it is defo a better way to go for smaller dents than trad bodywork but the costs still mean I have decided to buy a kit and give it a go myself - the car has 8 smallish dents...it's not a cool car or anything (mrs. VW Touran) think the worst I can do is improve the car a bit over where its already at for the sale and in the end I'll still have the kit and the bit of experience for future dent work on my own and maybe mates cars etc.

    thanks lads

I have used Car Craft in Dublin three or four times with very good results.

I had dents, large/deep scrapes and bumper scuffs removed....

[ I have no connection with them]

I got a really tricky dent (ran across the end of the door onto the B pillar) removed by Paul in Autodent in Dublin.
Cost a hundred euros for about 3 hours work, excellent job and well worth it.
Was quoted 700 quid to get it repaired in a garage. Totally recommend him, got his name off older posts on here.

I've used The Dent Man - http://www.thedentman.ie/ a couple of times and I've been very pleased with his work and the low cost! If the paint isn't cracked and the dent is accessible, its a no-brainer IMO.

Respraying half the side of the car to remove a little ding on the door is not something I'd like to be getting done unless absolutely necessary.
