I'm wondering can you get insured for 10 months. I'm currently with Asgard through AonInsure. Thanks.

Pay by direct debit and cancel on the 10th month. Installments are generally paid over 10 months though so you may well have paid full term come cancellation. To answer your question, can you get a 10 month policy? No.

Well considering 2 months is 1/6 of the policy I'd be saving a decent sum ;)

Also I'm hoping to be gone from the country in 10 months time so that's why :)

You can get a years policy, cancel early and get a refund. It'll be pro rata less a service charge, you'll need to consult the ins co for the details. Don't count on 1/6 of the policy or anything like it, depending on the ins co the refund may be as little as €0. :)

Chances are it will be a big fat €0 ! Work in a brokers and every company I know won't pay out after the 9th month. It's worthwhile taking out the full year for the extra years NCB. Trust me OP it'll come in handy when/if you come back!!

Will he lose the NCB for the year then?

    If he cancels yes.

He doesn't seem to mind though as he is leaving.
