litter fine wrong name

    hi my friend got a litter fine today stating that he left rubbish at a bottle bank he cant remember doing this and never litters he has asked to see the cctv that cought the littering but admitis his gf sometimes drives the car and might have done it but firstly the fine has not got either of there correct names on it and if its a women on the tape when he sees it how can the fine stand its to a non existant person ? if a summons has the wrong name or date on it its thrown out how does kildare county council get around this problem of there own stupidity do you think he should talk to a solicitor?

    What i don't understand from this is how one can't remember leaving the rubbish at a bottle bank? Your friend either did it, or did not. And his gf either have done, or hasn't...

    As for the name is it totally different, or just a typo? If it is not in their name why did he open the letter not addressed to him.

    If car registration was recorded, they send it to registered keeper (they have their records from their office - motor tax office i mean).

    Some missing pieces in the story - if any of them have committed the offence, i would pay, and order bins so it won't happen again...

    Your friend or his girlfriend may have littered and not realised it. e.g. if he left down a cardboard box or plastic bag or whatever he used to carry the bottles, got distracted and forgot about it. I've seen it happen. Often people don't realise that you can't simply leave your bottles beside the bottle bank when its full (despite the warning notices).
