Quick question

Say an apprentice completes his trade. The day he completes his apprenteship is a Friday and he is laid off that day and rehired on the Monday morning by the same company and works for another year, is he entitled to redundancy?

I know the law states if your laid off within 1 month of completion of your redundancy your not entitled to it, but does continous service not come into play here?
