    Hi all

Anyone have any suggestions for a cheap insurance company for a commercial jeep. My current provider won't insure it unless I tax it as a private vehicle.

Setanta are quite competitive, I've a landcruiser on a commercial policy for €470 fully comp, no issues with tax. Got the policy through my broker.

Got my L200 done through Mike Murphy.. cheapest I could find (and one of the few who would touch a commercial vehicle for non companies).

I was with mike murphy up until my last renewal, insuremyvan.ie was 100 euro cheaper. 450 euro fully comp with no claims protection and 5+ years ncb

    Thanks all,

Went with Insuremyvan in the end. €420 for Navara fully comp and bonus protected.

Big improvement on my previous private car rate of €641

If it's price you want it's InsureMyVan.

But god help you if you have to deal with them in any way after you get your policy!! I'm with them 3 years now and swear every year I cant put up with dealing with them any more but then I call them up at renewal time (they've not once sent me one) and the price makes me stay.

€230 fully comp on the Caddy

Seanieke - I am sorry you have had such a poor experience with insuremyvan. I work in IMV and If you would like to send me a pm with your details I will look to see where things have gone wrong. It is not good enough that you have been with us for 3 years and get treated this way please sent me your details and i will make sure any issues that you had are resolved. Jonathan insuremyvan.ie

I'm still waiting on a call back from a call placed to IMV on Monday 3rd of September... Hopefully you can resolve that too.

Sorry for raising this thread, but it's now time for me to redo my insurance on the L200... are there any other companies apart from the 2 mentioned? :)

The price has gone up considerably from MM, and I am waiting for the quote from IMV.. but I can't find any other companies that will quote for the L200... which is ridiculous..

Zurich for example will do vans.. but wont do L200's....

Edit - Well ignore my question :) I got a contact from Ian at IMV.. and a fantastic service and quote.. Over $160 less than MM who's price had gone way up :) a fantastic deal.. So I am now over on the same company with you guys.. Thanks to everyone (especially Ian) :)

I bought a sorento commercial in nov for going hunting and to ge me out of the work van on weekends, my day was out of work and started doing a bit of painting so i said he could use the jeep during the week an we would split the insurance. Fully comp with open drive for anyone over 25 with a full licence and it covers business and social use for €350, happy days :)
