have the above car, c220 cdi coupe to be exact...

It has a multi function steering wheel, with the buttons on the left controlling the onboard computer etc. Problem is these buttons have failed. I'm told they are no more good, and new buttons (in a pair) are €250 ex vat.

I see plenty of them for sale second hand...question is, if I do change them, do they need to be programmed by a computer, or will they automatically work? Or will secondhand buttons even do the trick?

the horn function on that side of the wheel is also knackered.....
