Booker T, Michael Cole, and Josh Mathews came out for commentary. Cole has new music. Lilian Garcia was the ring announcer. The ending of the Sheamus vs. Alberto Del Rio match from Money in the Bank was shown...

Rey Mysterio made his entrance and they replayed his segment from Raw with Alberto Del Rio. Mysterio cut a promo. Rey was in his hometown to announce that he's back. Del Rio and Ricardo came out without a car to cut him off. Del Rio accused him of being a chihuahua and said he took Mysterio out.

Del Rio is upset at Sheamus for beating him at Money in the Bank. Dolph Ziggler came out to say he will be the next World Heavyweight Champion. He's upset at Del Rio for thwarting his cash in on Sunday. Rey Mysterio interrupted their argument and suggested they fight. Ziggler said they should. Sheamus entered.

Sheamus awkwardly hugged Mysterio and called him fella. Sheamus and Mysterio were ready to fight. Del Rio left. Ziggler almost took a 619, but Vickie saved him. Solid opening segment. I'm guessing we get a tag match tonight...

    1. The Primetime Players (w/A.W.) and Hunico and Camacho defeated Kofi Kingston, R-Truth, Epico, and Primo. Darren Young pinned Primo (or Epico) after he fell off the top rope onto Young's knees.

Big Show hit the ring and said he was there to demolish the tag division. He hit everyone and double chokeslammed Hunico and Camacho. He delivered a promo in which he said, "And...what?" and left. That seemed unnecessary...

A Raw 1000 vignette with Jeremy Piven was shown. Long live SummerFest...

The aforementioned tag match main event with Sheamus and Mysterio vs. Del Rio and Ziggler will happen tonight... A Tout commercial aired...

    2. Damien Sandow defeated Zack Ryder. Sandow said we were embarrassing ourselves by supporting Ryder. Ryder attacked him, then the match started. Sandow over Ryder with his neckbreaker.

The Peep Show was up next. Christian came out. He said that bizarre was taken to a whole new level, then showed a recap of Daniel Bryan and AJ on Raw. Bryan and AJ entered. Bryan held the ropes for her. The wedding planning is apparently going well, then we saw a clip of them planning. It was delightful and silly.

Christian asked Bryan if he was sure he was doing the right thing. Bryan said yes. AJ said she has forgiven Bryan. Christian asked if this was true love. They said yes, then the crowd chanted yes.

Christian asked the crowd if they should get married, which they chanted a yes/no mixture for. Christian asked the crowd if they thought Bryan and AJ knew what they were doing. They answered with yes/no. He asked if AJ knew what she was doing, she slapped Christian.

They went to leave and Christian announced that AJ has a psychotic ex that Bryan would be facing right now. Cue Kane to enter for a match...

    3. Kane defeated Daniel Bryan (w/A.J.) by DQ. A.J. tried to interfere, which led to Bryan being disqualified. After the match, A.J. nearly kissed Kane, but she declined doing so. Bryan and A.J. kissed on the ramp in front of Kane. This could be the start of a program.

Heath Slater is out. They replayed his Raw 1000 package. He said that the one man band is on Smackdown, baby. His luck is about to change because he said it's going to. Road Warrior Animal entered to make sure that didn't happen.

    4. Road Warrior Animal defeated Heath Slater. Animal won with a powerslam and an elbow drop. Fun stuff...

(in a spot that won't be aired HHH came out in his suit and pedigreed Slater)

Vickie Guerrero yelled at Ricardo about being called a donkey earlier in the night. A comedy segment that was almost funny.

    5. Sheamus and Rey Mysterio defeated Alberto Del Rio and Dolph Ziggler by DQ. Mysterio wore new gear - black pants with one white stripe and yellow lettering that say 619. There's a shirt attached with just one question mark on it. Fun look, since he seems to have lost weight.

Mysterio sold for most of the match before making a hot tag to Sheamus. Ricardo interfered by grabbing Sheamus, which set up for the Brogue Kick. There was a DQ finish with Mysterio and Sheamus winning, technically.

Del Rio attacked Sheamus post-match. Ziggler looked as if he was about to cash in when Mysterio kicked him, then hit the 619. Sheamus hit the Brogue kick on Ziggler. Sheamus and Mysterio celebrated to end Smackdown.

other matches recorded (not sure which are dark, and which are on other shows):

    Cody Rhodes def. Tyson Kidd
The Usos def. Bateman & Curtis
    Sin Cara def. Drew McIntyre
Santino & Layla def. Cesaro & Aksana

Dark Main Event: Cena def. Show & Rhodes (after the match Laurinitis attacks Cena with a steel chair, but gets hit with an AA).

Cue suspicions that WWE's renewed semi-focus on the tag-division was only plotted to serve the Big Show gimmick.

I can't help but laugh at that. At one stage, that would have made me so mad, but I'm so beyond caring about the tag division now.....

So we can expect Ziggler to tease or attempt a mitb cash in every time the WHC champ is beat down

Oh God, the tag team/Big Show segment is beyond stupid...unless... *strokes stubble on chin*

1000th Raw (remembers, lots of new/returning viewers). Show comes out and shows the tape of him destroying the tag teams. Lols @ tag teams. Cut off by the Usos. They stare down show from stage. Tension builds. Then Hunico and Camancho come out. They stare down the Usos before they all begin to see the common enemy in the ring. Then the PTPs come out, followed by every single active tag team in the division. The announcers make a big deal of each of them. If they dont look like a tagteam stylewise, them get them new gears (Usos and PTP *feel* like teams).

Show looking apprehensive. Crowd sense Shows going to get whats coming to him. The announcers have time to highlight who these teams are.

They rush the ring and take down Big Show. After a beatdown, they ALL hit their finishers on Show one after the other. Have the announcers make a massive deal of their unique Trademark Finishers (Remember the days of the Doomsday Device, 3-D, Extreme Combination, Rockerplex, and look at TNA with DWI etc).

Boom. New veiwers and old see the entire tag roster in the spotlight. Show doesn't lose credibility (hey it's a 12/14-1 beatdown). The crowd get to see a spectacle.

Win-Win-Win in under 5 mins. If they are going to reignite the tag division, it HAS to be Monday.

Unfortunately it's far more likely that Big Show would destroy all the tag teams for no good reason because Show will be jobbed out to the top face anyway at PPVs.

They rush the ring and take

a series of WMD's as they all run in one after the other. :pac:

Dark match only, he's still wrestling at live events he's just off tv for the time being.

    Now that'd be cool.
This whole Big Show tag team angle, is he going to enter the division on his own as he is probably heavier on his own than most of the teams.

They didn't put the "I'm here to destroy the tag team division" quote on TV.

Why, oh why, do they have The Big Show doing that when the teams could actually do something?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,017 ✭✭✭Chagan

That was so pointless and unnecessary.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,166 ✭✭✭Stereomaniac

The teams probably won't make any reference to what happened the next time they're on!

They used Big Show well on Monday and ruined it on Friday. Broing and stupid.

maybe its Shows pay back for Kofi and Truth no selling the beat down from RAW a few weeks back.

the PTP's are growing on me though. Pity Hunico and Cmacho are not pushed more, Hunico is fantastic and Camacho showed a lot of potential on NXT the other week. Could be a really good tag team.

They remind me of Los Boricuas, I guess they recycle gimmicks all the time. But yeah, Hunico & Camacho are amazing and certainly deserve some of the spots the Prime Time Players have been getting I think. Big Show was a bit ridiculous when he was shoutin on Monday.

Watched the Heath Slater bit on YouTube (why are they only thinking of having him on both shows now?), nothing else interested me enough to watch. I have to admit I'm surprised with how well they did the legends bit for his segments. Piper was the only one of the usual suspects to be used. It was great to see some variety with the legends for a change.

Peep show still must watch tv.

Am I the only one who doesn't care that Rey Mysterio's back. They said he was out for a year. I didn't notice. I may have wondered once in that time where he was but when he returned, it was nothing like the return of most other guys.

I think they kinda use Rey a lot but don't reward him enough. They don't treat him as a proper headline player. He should have been given more main events and world title runs already?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,566 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Maybe they decided he's unreliable with injuries and wellness policy violations, but they still keep him around in the spotlight for the merchandise sales.
Wasn't one of the ideas behind bringing Sin Cara in to sell more masks, replace Mysterio eventually, as well as appeal to the Mexican market

I thought it was a pretty good episode this week. It had a good Peep Show segment, solid action, and Daniel Bryan putting a toy bunny in an ankle lock. Good stuff all round.

Favourite moment of the night though - Booker T's quote followed by Josh Mathew trying not to burst out in laughter.

“These guys you going to see on Monday night were the greatest, and still is... of all time." Commentary gold.

Could have done with it being longer and leading to Bryan V Christian instead of Bryan V Kane
