Whats the difference between cleat pedals and basic toe pegs? i know you need special shoes for the cleats but are they easier use? less strain on your muscle? im using toe pegs at the minute for a road bike and find them easy to use.

Using cleat pedals/shoes is more efficient in terms of apply force to the pedals and will improve your pedalling stroke.

Initally it will seem quite dangerous and you may have a slow motion falls as many people have but my advice would be to invest and get familiar with them as soon as possible.

It will make a big difference to your cycling performance and should become second nature within a pretty short timeframe. Toe clips are danerous and uncomfortable in comparion.
