I signed on to the Social Welfare a few weeks ago. In the mean time i had gotten a job. I only work one day a week for 4 hours. I said this to them and they gave me forms to give to my employer which i did and as far as i know they sent them back!

Today i had to go to a meeting with them and they put me on x and o! I filled out all the forms and it was fine but then they informed that i would not be signing on anymore and they have essentially cut my dole.

I assumed that if i was on x and o my dole would be cut due to how much i was earning, but i only work 4 hours a week for minimum wage and now they have cut me completely.

Are there new regulations with regards x and o? It has confused me quite a bit as i have had friends who were on x and o before and their dole was cut slightly! So i dont understand why mine is being cut entirely

You wont be signing on anymore you will be receiving your money by cheque. Did you misunderstand what was said to you? Prior to finding a job were you receiving full amount or were there means against you from e.g. if you are under 25 years - parental income. Are you married or co-hab and is your spouse/partner working?

I may have misunderstood what she said to me but she never mentioned anything about a cheque to me though. Maybe she forgot to mention it to me!

I will pop in tomorrow to clarify the issue!

Im under 25, recently finished college, living back home with the parents.

Your parents means and your means from work may have pushed you over the limit. Best to go in a check.
