    Hey, I posted on here a while back about my car getting rammed in the middle of the night. (Never caught the bas**rds by the way)

    Well, insurance have come back and deemed it an economic write off and valued it (2004 Peugeot 307, 1.4L) at 3850. So, Im here (again) looking for advice; need a new car pretty lively. The only info/ requirements I have are as follows;
    Around the €5k mark (maybe 6k if I really had to), I do bout 20,000km/yr. I do a 35-40km round trip to work every day and a ~400km motorway round trip once (or maybe a little more) a month.
    Now I really dont know much about cars but from what I read here and from browsing through the carzone.ie's etc I was thinking a Seat Leon, a Golf or Focus. I know thats pretty broad so Im hoping somone who might know something could narrow it down for me? I want something zippy enough, yet sturdy enough for the motorway, but other than that Im not really that fussed.
    Another issue that Im trying to balance is that Im half thinking of leaving the country for a year or so at the end of next year, Im thinking my sister wil gladly take the car off my hands but not sure really what to do about it......may not be even relevant but just another factor Im considering.
    I have been thinking about diesel but again, don't know if my mileage really warrants it.

    Anyway, thanks in advance (hopefully) for any advice.
