    Hi,

Young (Mid 20s) adult living in a big city for a number of years years...

I'm going through a bit of a **** time at the moment with my thoughts, I have intrusive thoughts on a regular basis.. I try and put them to the back of my mind but it doesn't seem to be going away by any means. I lead a regular life, have good friends etc but I don't like the thoughts that I have about close family and friends and people in my life. I.E, stuff happening to them which is bad, I try to rid the thought but somehow it comes back again.

They are bad thoughts and I am looking for a way to get this out of my life.

It frightens me when they come into my mind and I am looking for some advice on how to phase these out of my life.

I did sample in some Class A drugs for a time and have moved on from this for a number of years.

Everything else in my life is good, I really have no complaints whatsoever. Just my thought process is a bit messed up and I would like to get it sorted out once and for all.

Thanks for reading my above post.

Well OP,mindfulness which im currently doing would help you a lot,you can do it yourself and there are also mindfulness groups,i suggest you buy a book on it,(mindfulness for dummies is a good one). It will take time and small steps but be patient and it will really work. best of luck :)

I'm sure the mods will agree with me on this, but nobody here is qualified to help you with the bad thoughts you're having. The best thing you can do is to speak to someone (be it a counselor/psychologist or a GP) about these.

With regards other stuff, how active are you? Would you exercise regularly or eat healthily? Do you have hobbies and pastimes?

OP - we are not qualified to help with medical issues.

You need to make an appointment with your GP and tell them about your intrusive bad thoughts so you can get a proper diagnosis and treatment.

I have to close this thread now OP - as leaving it open for amateur advice on what could be a psychiatric issue is just not in your own best interests.

    All the very best.
