Sky box extended warranty

    Is it possible to extend the warranty period on a Sky box once your first year is up.

    No need. You can buy a nearly new box for 60 euro. Also if it breaks and you are out of contract ring Sky. They normally charge 100 Euro for a callout, but if you say you are going to leave them otherwise they waive the fee.

    The boxes are normally reliable and go out of date after a few years. It's the dish that rusts fasts and causes most problems. They will replace the dish for free if you threathen to leave.

    So if it were available I would not pay extra for insurance/warrenty. Replacement remotes are in Tesco etc.
