Best TV with budget of €1400-1500?

As per the thread title, have a budget of €1400-1500 to spend on a TV. Just wondering which option gives best bang for my €.

3D is not all that much of an attraction (albeit that I guess they will all feature it within this price range) as I don't rate it.
Other than that - any of the smart tv features appeal.
And of course, best possible pic/sound a prerequisite.

    Anyone any guidance?

    Hi
For that kind of money I'd say that the Panny Gt50 50" plasma is a good bet. It has got positive reviews and you might be able to pick one up for €1400. Also the St50 50" has got excellent reviews and is considerably cheaper. Both are plasmas so are a little more expensive to run and are 3d unfortunately.

Thanks for posting babybuilder. Done a bit of reading up - and leaning towards this LG LED TV right now. Reviews seem to be good - and price point has dropped - provided I can get it off currys.co.uk - is there any issue ordering up from them (given that they have an irish presence - and of course, their irish price for that tv is quite a bit more)? Can't seem to find a cheaper supplier right now...although have only just started price comparison..

I have that LG one,i bought it in Harvey Normans a few weeks ago for €1499 and it really is a great TV,i have watched a few films in 3D and they are amazing but im not big into 3D either but it is a nice addition.

If you ask in the Currys forum on here the MD will get back to you with prices etc.

Have just done that and awaiting them gettting back to me. The frustrating thing with this is that currys/pcworld seem to have a monopoly on this particular set. I could only find one or two others who had it (but were very much uncompetitive... a few hundred gbp more) and one other stockist that no longer stocked it).

It's £1089 (€1395) delivered in the UK - with a free camcorder! Meanwhile, it's listed as €1650 in IRL (without camcorder).

Are you close to the north? Would it be worth your trip up there? Saw some great deals up there last week with a friend....

And if your in person with cash, money talks.... :)

You can hold items for 24 hours aswell on most sites

Just as a wee example, we got a 32 inch Samsung led for 300 sterling, same tv in Dublin was 550, a laptop with 8gb RAM and terrabyte hd for 400 sterling, I think 600 in Dublin PC world....

Could be worth your while, there's a big PC world in Lisburn, has a great selection...

Just took delivery of this TV this morning. Magic remote works great. However, for the life of me - I couldn't get the regular remote to work. Is there anything special that needs to be done to get it working? It's got batteries loaded correctly (just in case anyone wonders...!)
