I think it would be a nice idea to have some interesting, and possibly little known, facts about eyes and eyecare for people to have a browse through. Hopefully it will increase awareness, and interest in, what is in my opinion, a very interesting science area. Feel free to add any facts you think would be appropriate.…

I think it would be a nice idea to have some interesting, and possibly little known, facts about eyes and eyecare for people to have a browse through. Hopefully it will increase awareness, and interest in, what is in my opinion, a very interesting science area.

Feel free to add any facts you think would be appropriate.

*Millions of people around the world are functionally blind due to uncorrected refractive error (ie not having access to glasses to correct their vision)

*Your eyes are composed of more than 2 million working parts.

*Some brain tumours can be detected in a routine eye examination.

* 54% of birds have a second fovea for enhanced peripheral vision.
