Purchased a mountain bike looking to get started in this.
Any advice on where to start or what I need?
    Complete beginner to this.

    1. A Helmet.
    2. Directions to the nearest trail!
    3. Start Mountain Biking!

You can join a club an all that later. Just get on the bike and head off somewhere.

    Where you based?

EDIT > Maybe bring a puncture repair kit and a snack too!

    What the other two said.

What kind of bike did you buy?

If you haven't cycled in a while, just go on forestry roads while you get used to how bike handles, gears change, brakes work etc.

Do a nice bit of road biking myself and mtb in winter mainly, we have a great country for it if you have a look around and ask locally or else try irish mtb forums.

Got a nice giant bike. 500 euro. Can't wait to collect it at the weekend.

Ya been a while since I cycled.
Just looking for a new hobby.

Do a few laps of the Green loop first time out, rather than going all out for the Brown loop or more.
5yoyo in coins for the gate. Not sure what coins the showers and bike wash take this days, it's been too long since I was there.
    Enjoy!

Ya hopefully I'll get there soon enough.

Ballyhoura is easy but try and head with a chum, you don't want to clobber yourself first time out and have no one there to wipe up the mess.

Can't head with a mate because none of them do this!
I'll take it easy till I get the hang of it.

My safety rules when I used to ride a lot:
    -Helmet
    -Glasses
-Gloves (you ll thank me for this one if you fall)
-Always with someone (if not possible, place with lots of other riders)

I'll just have to place with other riders. None of my friends bike.
