    Hi everyone,

I'm moving to London in September for a 12-month Masters and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with accommodation in the area around UCL?

Its mostly around Regent's Park. I'm also wondering how easy it is to commute in from houses further out in the city, perhaps by bicycle?

    I'd really appreciate any advice!

Depending on budget, Kilburn, Willesden, Dollis Hill, Finchley or Swiss Cottage might be good for you.

All are on the Underground (Jubilee and Bakerloo lines) and are north of the river.

DON'T go to Harlesden, or Park Royal. Pretty rough areas...

PM me if you need more help. Have a word with UCL too. They might be able to advise on student digs.

Thanks very much ABajaninCork. I was in touch with UCL but they just said it's best if I look for private accomodation. I was referred to the University of London Housing Services.

I'll check out the places you listed!

    Hey Kronos,

How did you get on with the UoL Housing guys? I did a post-grad in London a couple of years ago and stayed in a place near Old Street called Hive (it changed to urbanest) but it was perfect for me at UCL and they're really nice digs (all bills and internet etc included)

Hope that helps - but yeah PM me if you need more advice :)

    Hey guys,

sorry I haven't replied to this. I've been searching but haven't found anything yet. I'm going to head over there for a few days to do some viewings.

University of London Housing services seems to be just a database of houses, like a well-regulated Gumtree.

Not finding it that easy so far! Urbanest looks great, but it's actually about twice as expensive as a private let! I know it includes the bills, but it's still very expensive.

I'll let you know how I get on..
