    Hi All

just tried to book a band there for the wedding called "The Converse all-stars" but they were booked for our date. the thing is, they were not your run of the mill wedding band, they play some led zeppelin, the Doors etc and dont do waltzs, all of which made them just the band for us!! :-)

just wondering has anybody come across or had experience of any bands like this they we might be able to get?

    thanks

nearly every band will do "no waltzes or cheese" if you ask them.

Check the websites of the bands and see their playlists, if you see mostly waltz/cheese with 1 or 2 rock/indie numbers then maybe avoid, if its mostly rock/indie with some waltz/cheese dont let it put you off. They have to do those songs so they can eat. It usually means theyll only play it on request.

A full night of Indie/rock isnt always conducive to a full dancefloor so be prepared for this on the night

(auntie joan comes to band during the night, youre really bad at this arent you, can you play something suitable for the older people.
Band refer to note from the B&G that says "Do not deviate from the rock/indie playlist we agreed on")

    Its your wedding though! :)

    i know,

its such tightrope to walk really, neither myself or the missus want a kind of "old fogey" band if you know what i mean, but i am conscious of the need to have people out on the floor enjoying themselves.

    decisions decisions!!:)

friends has a KISS tribute band with the whole glam rock outfits, black make-up and all... Went down a storm, even with the grannies and aunties. Don't let worries bout a handful of people put you off booking something you like.

beatclub do plenty of rock and indie with a nice bit of 60s,70s and 80s without the uber-cheese.

    Hi,

Just wondering how you got on with Late Nite Radio, we think they'd be great for us. We really want to stay away from the cheese but know we have to cater for the golden oldies too.

If anyone knows some up and coming bands either, I'd appreciate any suggestions.

    Cheers!
