Looks like you'll need to go through another 3 or 4 of these threads Hungrycol - then you'll be able to show him!

I think that photo is from the first rest day, so he could be even skinnier now!!

    Ahhh!

Surely his legs require muscles to keep the cranks turning. That's just...

Jaysus my granny had bigger legs when she died at 94. Surprised the weight of his shoes don't cause a stress fracture!

....that can`t be right!.....i knew he had skinny legs but !!!...have to say I am a bit shocked by that....gives nonsense to the myth that all cyclists have legs like tree trunks!

I just don't understand...Is he now on pure cardio?

Calf muscles are overrated for cycling anyway, give me massive quads please!

Garmin need to use more of that orange and blue argyle. Their current kit is too boring

i've never *really* been able to take him seriously as an athlete, the guy looks like a crusty turned quirky record shop owner... all he needs is a spliff...

    Careful now :P

to be fair he is 6'3 and 10 stone 8...... giving him a BMI of 19.1 which is in the normal range.... whatever about their legs and bodies, i'm always more amazed by their resting heart-rates, which can be as low as 20 beats-per-minute....would freak me out my heart only beating once every 3 seconds!!!

argghh! those knees! i cant even look at them... how can that be in the healthy range of BMI

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 27,833 ✭✭✭✭ThisRegard

The BMI is a load of nonsense anyway isn't it ? I've always been at the limit of being overweight for my height and weight but at 5,7 and a 30inch waist I think I'm a long way off being overweight.
Here's an article I read from a few years back about it, provocatively entitled "Top 10 Reasons why the BMI is bogus".

If Mr. Burns was Director Sportif of Garmin, he'd at least be able to sort out Bradley's sideburns! :pac:

Not to mention the fact that he wouldn't look like either:

    A. He's travelled forward in time from the 60s, or

    B. He likes oasis and has never grown out of that "phase".

really interesting facts and figures article

    http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/tour-de-france-numbers-stage-wins-and-abandons
The only four teams which are still complete are BMC Racing Team, Liquigas-Cannondale, Lotto-Belisol and Saxo Bank-Tinkoff Bank.

Only 156 riders finished the race on Sunday and headed into the rest day. While 42 abandons sounds like a lot, it is not unusually high. In 2011, the fifteenth stage ended with 170 riders and 2010 saw a high of 174, the previous years were lower. 2009 had 162 riders, 2008 the low of 153 and 2007 had 160.
