hey, got opel corsa C 2001. Have to drive it until next summer, already pissed off with it's crappy radio (CD, radio). I was wondering can I buy some cheap radio for 50 euro in argos or something and install it on it? Then when changing car perhaps take it out and install stock?

if so what do I need exactly to look for? help please, never bought radio before.

I want to be able to stick USB into it.

Halfords isn't bad for head units either, I got an okay JVC head unit there for under €50. It's not the prettiest thing in the world but can't fault it's sound.

So when I buy it, I just remove old thing and put this? Will connections match? Also what if the old unit in it is kind of like twice as high as this?

You need a fascia adapter and iso cable. Your local motor factors should have both, try halfords if theres on near.

Ebay Link to give you an idea of what u need.

The iso cable runs in between the cars cables to the radio cable.

I'd be much happier with the crap radio than the car.....

OP have a gander around a scrapyard or 2, you can pick up a decent radio from a crashed car for naff all :)

You might need a facia, about 20 quids from hellfrauds. Maybe an iso adapter too

Lidl one will conect straight, no ISO cable needed. Any Blaupunkt will also connect straight. Pioneer, JVC and others will need ISO cable adapter though.

Steering controls will not work with other units afaik. Need to be programmed via canbus I think.

I'd agree with a scrap yard, that or have a look on adverts and pick up a second hand one. if you need a hand putting it in and are near navan then i'll happily give you a hand.

edit: me and pcardin having the same thoughts

Not that I know. Was buying a specific canbus adaptor to get my mercs steering wheels controls talk to Pioneer headunit. The same was with wifes Stilo.

A friend of mine bought this LIDL/Aldi car radio Silvercrest crb-631 with all specs of Bluetooth and usb stick, but it wont fit in to his Toyota Hiace Van 2004.

We tried to installed in but i think he need adapter cable, and another fascia but he doesnt want to spend more,

Do you know which cable and fascia we need? can some one give me web link?

Wat exactly is crap about the existing unit?

Is it just the lack of USB?
