I decided to put an end to the constant getting lost and forked out for a new Garmin satnav yesterday. Bought the nuvi 50 but the speed limit beeping is driving me mental.

Is the only option to go on complete mute or can I mute the speed limit related beeping only?

Also, to register it, you have to connect it to your computer with a USB. So stingy of them not to provide a usb lead with it....

You have a number of option s..

1- menu, point of interest, audio, single tone

2- turn off notifications.. Similar steps as above

3- press vol icon and then press mixer (here u can adjust alert/media vol)

Well thats how it is on a nuvi 765, so it should be fairly similar

I'm writing this from memory,so the steps moght not be 100% accurate. But they should put you on the right track
