Education Policy

I have the unenviable task of writing a bit about education policy, so I was wondering if the educators out there could give me some pointers.

Are education policy documents for the past 25-30 years available online? I tried education.ie, but that seems to be a more general information site, with the occasional report and stats. Nothing immediately jumped out at me in terms of policy.

Ideally I am looking for 3rd level policy, but primary and 2nd level are acceptable too.

The education policies implemented by government. Presumably ones that are backed by legislation (guess who is still reading up on education policy ).

Ill have a dig in the cabinet tomorrow i have a rake of stuff there.

One of the main things was a report by the oecd. The investment in education report 1966 i think.

A lot of European stuff has influenced Irish policy such as the Lisbon agenda.

Ill have a look and get back tomorrow.

The Hunt Report (http://www.hea.ie/files/files/DES_Higher_Ed_Main_Report.pdf) would be a big one for third level, but that hasn't actually been implemented.

Edited to add:
The Irish Educational Documents (Available online in three volumes here: http://scotens.org/?p=1771 ) provide a lot of information on historical policies. The second volume includes policy in Ireland up until 1991. The third volume includes policy documents up until 1992 in Northern Ireland.

I spent about 2 hours today debating pluralism (pluralism 1 and pluralism 2). Yes, I lead a sheltered life.

Great stuff. I have no idea what I am looking for, but I'll have a poke around.

Thanks to everyone so far, I have tonnes to work on, I really appreciate the pointers.

For a general history & overview of Irish education policy from a non-pedagogical perspective, there's a very good chapter in A Sociology of Ireland by Tovey, Share & Corcoran. Decent enough critique and a breath of fresh air if you're getting mired in Department-written policy-speak.
