Bus fare from Maynooth to Liffey Valley

    Hi,

Was wondering could someone estimate or know what fare I should ask for when I get the 67 bus outside the train station in Maynooth. I need to get off at Liffey valley.

Also does the 67 stop on the N4 motorway where you cross over to liffey valley on the footbridge or does it go down the slip road past woodies? The way you would go by car...in around past the clarion etc.

I remember when I parked my car at liffey valley before I crossed the footbridge to get the bus into town but I have never gotten to liffey valley by bus from maynooth.

Also are the times listed on this link up to date? http://dublinbus.ie/en/Your-Journey1/Timetables/All-Timetables/671/

Thanks...travelling on Friday so help before then would be greatly appreciated. :P

It stops at either side the footbridge just before the M 50 turnoff. Fares are listed here or get a Travel 90 to save yourself a few € in the long run.

If your ever unsure when getting on ask the driver he/she will let you know.
Do you use bus often ?
Get a travel90 smart card as this will only cost €2.15 for travel on any bus within 90mins xpresso included.
This works out cheaper than Leap card

The 67 stops at Kings hospital which is near the footbridge that takes you into Liffey Valley SC.

Wow thanks everyone for the super quick replies. Does anyone know how many stages that would be from maynooth to liffey valley?

I don't use the bus often, im from sligo and I have a lift back down with someone that evening so I will only be using the bus once.

    Thanks again

The travel90 works out at €2.15 instead of €2.65 but you must buy ten tickets at once costing €21.50 but there is a very long expiry on these tickets.

    the journey covers 26 stages

Yes, they will be up to date. Dublin Bus aren't THAT unprofessional that they would have the wrong timetables up for messing purposes.

OP, if you're getting the bus to Liffey Valley to get a lift to Sligo, the car giving you a lift is going to pass Maynooth anyway, and as Victor says why don't they just pick you up on their way past?

Also, the 66 has a slightly shorter run from Maynooth to Liffey Valley, so it would be a bit quicker.

@n97mini....I have explained further up....I am getting a lift back with someone who is coming back off holidays-they will be arriving in dublin airport at 12:30pm and returning to sligo from dublin airport around 4pm!

Is there a 66 stop outside maynooth train station? or is it in maynooth town?

So you're going to Liffey Valley shopping type thing and then getting a lift back to Sligo later on?

The 66 starts at the train station and goes back in the direction of the town and turns right at the traffic lights at the junction on Main St and heads for Leixlip.

    66 doesn't.

67 starts near the train station, heads out to Celbridge and then for the N4 corridor

66 starts at Esso and heads towards the town. It doesn't stop anywhere near the train station, there's a walk involved.

Thanks MYOB that's what I thought about the 66...I didnt think it was near the train station. Id rather just wait for the 67. Thanks.

My bad, I thought it only u-turned at Esso.

EDIT: altho the stop outside Silken Vale for the 66 is a 4 minute walk whereas the 67 stop is a 3 minute walk, so not a huge difference.

Anyone know how much it is from Westmoreland Street to Maynooth on the 66 ? is it 2.65 (Over 13 stages) or 4.10 (Outer Suburban 2) . Thanks

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 71,184 ✭✭✭✭L1011

    2.65.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,284 ✭✭✭✭LXFlyer

Using a Leap card it is €2.40 and using a Travel 90 10 Journey ticket it works out at 2.15.

Just a once off trip so think I will just pay the 2.65 but cheers for the info. By looking on Dublin bus's website it seems that it takes nearly an hour can anyone verify this?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,284 ✭✭✭✭LXFlyer

It would be about 1 hour yes.

The day return fare on the train is €6.60 and it is slightly faster than the 67 which goes through Celbridge but takes about the same time as the 66
