Minecraft slow, any mods to help this?

    So after actually buying minecraft (aaaaaaaaages ago) and only starting to play it now it turns out it runs very "clunkily" on my laptop.

    Just wondering are there any mods/add ons to help as I've, for want of a better word, 'fiddled' with the settings and put them at their lowest but it still runs at a snails pace!

    My specs are windows 7 64 bit, 4GB RAM, intel i3 (4 cpu's @ 2.53GHz). And I've just the generic internal intel graphic chip.

    I've started using Optifine which has seemed to help my issues with lag. Maybe give it a go..

    +1 on Optifine. Really gives a boost, at least on every machine I've tested it on anyway.

    Also make sure your running 64bit java, it makes it so much better.

    I could only play on normal render distance , now it runs better on far :D

    I'm also having problems running Minecraft on my laptop. It's a 32-bit Compaq Mini 110C running on Windows XP...am I out of luck here? :(

    No use all the tips we mentioned above , though 64 but java won't work on a 32 bit machine

    Intel Atom 1.6ghz?


    Couple of frames a second at best. Not really cut out to play minecraft.

    This might only make a small improvement to FPS, but go into task manager. Find javaw.exe and set its priority to high. This allocates it more memory and should speed it up. It always works for me and I'm playing on a crappy Toshiba laptop.

    I get occasional lag spikes that can really ruin the game if it's at crucial moments, anyone get past that issue? I'm sure it must be a common one.
