Prices above are PaddyPower as they were the only ones with prices up yesterday. Bet365, Ladbrokes and William Hill have it up today.

Carlingford Lough for me looks well handicapped.

Clarach for me lads 14/1, cant believe the price on Blackstairmountain for the plate with Lads, 12/1, only 6's in pp's...gonna do an e/w treble, Clarach 14/1, Blackstairmountain 12/1, and Sholaan 14/1 for the stewards cup goodwood same week

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,408 ✭✭✭ft9

Clarach needs about 7 horses to pull out in order to get into the race. I wouldn't be going ante-post with that risk.

Well mullins has six, O'Grady has three, Eddie Harty has three and Oliver McKiernan and Gordon Elliott have two all above him, id be 90% confident half of those runners wont run

If your horse is balloted out your stake is returned in any case

    I didn't realise that, thanks.

The Real Article, Captain Cee Bee, Oilily and Rebel Fitz all hold entries for the grade 3 hurdle in Tipperary on Sunday, the race which last year caused all the hype when the Real Article narrowly lost out to Captain Cee Bee under a hands and heels ride.

16s about rebel fitz was lovely! 9s are still a price

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,408 ✭✭✭ft9

They say they won't run Rebel Fitz if the handicapper goes to town on him.

I fancy a horse way down in the declarations, its in the mid 50's of 74 (I think) that are declared . What are its chances of running? I'm not too familiar with how the ballot works. I've backed it AP with Ladbrokes and I'll get my money back if it doesn't run but I'd rather it does go.

Would someone mind explaining how they determine who gets in?

Top 20 rated horses gets in. Top rated is number 1.
Something so far down the list will not get in imo.

More importantly, what horse do you fancy?

It's be unlikely but I'd the trainer is serious about him getting in expect him to run soon and to be out to win in order to get in

I've checked the cards for this week and there's no meeting in Ireland that it can go to as it is rated too highly and the highest rated race available is 102, so going by what you're saying the horse won't run at Galway? Its rated 120

Handicap ratings cant be altered til after the race. All he can do is give him a 6 pound penalty

Yes. If he gets the penalty they say they won't run in the hurdle.

Maybe. I'm only going by what he said. If up 6lbs He will be 11st 5. Its the horses low in the weights who are dangerous with a fast finish.

    From www.racecaller.com

    Just the summary....
Based on the trends from the past 10 years you are looking for a horse:
    · Aged 6
    · Carrying 10-7+
    · Officially rated 130 or higher
    · Won 1 of last 2 hurdles starts
    · Posted career high RPR in last 2 starts
    · Won or placed on last hurdles start
    · Run in past 55 days
    · Had prep run on flat last time (or finished in first 3 over hurdles)
    · Previously run in no more than 15 hurdles (winning 2 to 4)
    · Run in 5 or fewer handicap hurdles (winning no more than 2)
    · Tends to race prominently

Oh you're some ejit! I think we found the troll on here! I put him up at 16/1, before he won in tipp, then i put him up again after. If you read between the lines you would have made a packet, like i did. But it would seem pretty obvious to me that someone of your intelligence is lucky to be able to read. No mind read between the lines!

    Lol, where do I start?

You asked what price he was for this, not sure how you can make money on an event before it has taken place!! He was second fav in Tipp too.

By the way if Rebel Fitz doesn't run you lose your money so it doesn't matter a jot if you have him ay 100/1

I think Captain Cee Bee has been aimed at this all season and the last minute defection of Mc Coy in Tipp reinforces that opinion for me.

You are more clueless than i taught! I can guarantee you im more highly connected than you could dream to be, and that bar tragedy the rebel will be running in galway, and will go off more like 6/1! And again bar an absolute tragedy theres no way in the wide earthly world that captain cee bee will finish ahead of rebel fitz. No chance

You can't be that connected if you don't know where to get an early price for a race.

I would expect most opening prices to be lower than the ante post prices.

It looked for all the world that Cee Bee was having a prep run in Tipp and the drying ground will suit, he will be carrying my money on the day.

It's probably your petty name calling that gets you banned.;)

They are quiet alright, they haven't mentioned anything about it:pac:

I will give you one thing, you are a gas man, you come on a forum, start calling names if people voice a different opinion and have all this info you pm certain people. Will I PM you the name of a bookie who does early prices?

Looking forward to seeing Cee Bee stroll in by the way :P

Fair play to Davy Russell for his honesty in the post race interview.
When asked did he know Davy Condon was catching him going to the line he said

"No I taught I was 3 lenghts clear,I did a stupid thing and it will never happen again"

Much better to have an opinion than to come in with a comment like yours after the event.

Might be acceptable if you'd bothered to have any input.

Cheers Nulty, I thought a while back he would end up in a hurdle in Galway http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=78187629&postcount=5

He was unlucky swinging in for home, found himself behind a wall of horse and Mc Coy had to pull him out to allow him to challenge. It was looking like a clever ride waiting for the leaders to take the bend wide as they had been doing but he got a wall instead of a split, ah well I more than doubled up on him :).

Very stupid indeed. My heart sank as I saw Cause of Causes becoming a Cause of Concern. Couldn't celebrate 'til the photo finish and the win confirmed. Everybody around me had Rebel Fitz backed to the hilt. And whatever about their money, just the profile for Mick Winters. If he'd missed-out on that? Ah well, all's well. Rebel Fitz won. Now, if only we could hook up one Kanturk man (Mick Winters) with another (Michael O'Leary). It would be great to have a few Gigginstown horses in Duhallow.

    Davy Russell should know better!
Remember Quito De La Roque winning the JN Wine.com in Down Royal? He wasn't fully beyond Sizing Europe and he was wagging his finger to the crowd. Granted Sizing was beaten, but there's no place for that showboating.
