Brazilian Visa Requiements

    Hi Guys

I've booked a return flight to Rio and there are 4 months between when I arrive and when I leave (arriving November this year and leaving March next year). What I plan on doing is travelling around Brazil for about a month before moving on to the rest of South America and returning to Rio near the end to catch my flight home.

My question is do I need to apply for a visa before I go? I know I'll get the 90 days on arrival initially but when I leave after say 30 days and then re-enter a few months later is this ok? Or is it that once the 90 days are up, that's it I can't get another one?

Fairly sure you have a maximum of six months in Brazil with at least a two week break in between visas. So you should be fine. 90 days at the start, leave for two weeks, then 90 days again.

Irish Passport holders can stay for a maximum of 90 days at a time. But no more than 180 days in any 12 month period. When you enter Brazil for the 2nd time you will get a 2nd 90 day visa on arrival. Your paasport must be valid for at least 6 months and you must have proof of onward travel.

if you're going to any other country where you may need a yellow fever cert for then i think they might ask you to produce the cert at the border. we got asked for it when crossing at iguazu as we'd been to the amazon in peru.
