    Dublin City University
Diploma in Information Technology : ITDIP

I have got an offer through springboard /oscail for this course ,
can anybody tell me if it is a good and up to date degree/diploma in IT ?
or is it considered dated ?
Would this diploma be well regarded by employers ?
    or
Would I be better doing a special purpose award for 1 year ? , I was also offered
    these courses

    College of Computer Training
HETAC Level 6 Higher Certificate in Science in Computing in Information

    College of Computer Training
Certificate in Computer Programming : CCTSP001

    Griffith College
Certificate in Computing Science : GCS01

Any insight would be welcome, my goal is to gain employment . Thanks.

I can't tell you about that course specifically, but as far as I know DCU has a good reputation for computer science generally. I think your biggest concern should be progression, I don't know what kind of employment prospects there are for diploma holders but you'd be competing with all the Bsc. graduates produced each year, so you might want to continue on and get yourself on a even footing with them. Sending the registry a mail about that might not be too bad an idea.

I know one person that is doing the Diploma in DCU, and one vaguely who has done it before. The one I know doing it is an IT instructor with FÁS right now, and he likes the course. He found the Maths to be challenging though.

I'd advice weighing up what each course offers with modules and that, and what you want out of the course. If you work hard and put yourself out there, you should eventually get employment. Just take a look at the courses yourself. Good luck with your choice!
