Space Pirate (is it around anymore)...

    Looking for some help/info.
    I used to play a game called Space Pirate (i think)
    Idea of the game was you had a small shuttle to start with and you jumped around to different planets doing jobs for people, some jobs were easy others not so and you had to keep buying fuel which at the same time avoiding the Galactic Empire (who wanted to tax you) As your money went up you could also upgrade your ship or buy a bigger one.

    Thing is I cannot seem to find it online any more.

    Does anyone know of this game and where to get it, or if there are similar games to this out there??

    Sounds like Elite. How old is the game you're thinking of?

    Hmmmm the last time i played it would have been 2 or 3 years ago (i think)

    So after looking for it (and not finding it) for a while i did stumble by a game called Star Pirate

    Does take a while to get use to but it is very clever and there is lots to do.
    So as well as blasting other pirates you can save them if they are lost in space, raid others if they have cargo, spy on them, join a fleet (which has many advantages). There is also casino section that lets you get money, 50/50 games, a game like rock paper scissors, and others. There is the mini stock market that lets you buy and sell shares (to try and make more profit)

    Once an hour you can do a search through the debris field and that can turn up cargo (money) and sometimes items to install on you ship.
