New Huawei ascend 300..tips for a newbie????

    I recently bought a Huawei ascend and am completely new to the whole android market & phones scene...just wondering if anyone has any recommended apps or just general tips about the phone/android use :) thanks everyone

    I'm also a n00b. Got my first smartphone a few days ago!

    Have a look at avast! mobile security for your phone, lots of cool features. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.avast.android.mobilesecurity

    Also, get a cool browser to replace the stock one. I use Dolphin HD Browser for when I'm on wifi, and when I'm using 3G I use Opera Mini to save on data.

    You don't need an antivirus on Android, only Windows gets viruses.

    OP I'm telling you, download avast. No harm in giving it a go - it's free.

    It has lots of cool features, including the ability to locate or wipe your phone in case it gets stolen (even if the thief takes your sim out). The firewall is also a great feature as you can decide which apps can connect to the internet.

    Another n00b tip - get a protective case for it.
