    I kid you not......:eek::D

    Mayor of London Borris Johnston has officially installed "Olympic Lanes" in and around London.

    These car lanes are only to be used by olympic athletes and officials who hold a valid permit.

    Any other normal motorist caught in these lanes will be fined heavily.:mad:

    Sky News showed the traffic jams,carnage and chaos that it is causing this morning in London with most motorists not having a clue what its all about.

    Well done Borris Johnston...."thats another "FINE" mess you have gotten us into"....:D

    Have a look at the 3rd picture down on the Sky News website.....

    Haven't cities been doing this for the Olympics for years? I'm fairly sure it's not the first time I've heard of it. It would be fairly embarrassing for London if athletes couldn't compete because they were stuck in congestion nearby.

    If it's clearly signposted as Boris Johnson says then it's the fault of drivers not being capable of reading english, not wearing glasses or not paying attention.

    Yes, let's bow to the media who are making a mountain out of a molehill.

    I am pretty sure you have to do this when bidding for the Olympics.

    I have been hearing about these Olympic Lanes for months.

    And that third picture you refer to, is silly people trying to avoid the lane when it is open to all (read the article in full.. says the lane was open at the time)

    Old news; today's news is that ony one o f them came into operation today but it doesn't look that busy whereas on routes where not in effect, motorists are avoiding it and causing jams. Again I assume selective videoing. They will undoubtedly cause me grief over the next month.

    Drove through London last week - after they were identified but before the lanes came into effect - and anyone who doesn't see them is too blind to be allowed to drive. And anyone who can't figure them out at a glance is too stupid to be put in charge of a car.

    I suppose it should be be safe to call these 'fast' lanes? :rolleyes:
