I've never been on a package tour to Spain but I was just looking at reviews of a place we might be going to in the Canaries and it says they charge a euro an hour for the TV. Is this normal?

I have heard of it alright, but most places don't.... You're on holiday though... I wouldn't worry about TV ;)

Unless there's no choice, something like that would make me wonder if that place is a dump best avoided.

Only you can decide that, but it sounds mental to me. Not even in the poorest of the poor countries I've holidayed in was this something I saw.

I know, I'm a bit worried. I wasn't involved in the booking unfortunately so I'm stuck with it. Pub and laptop sound like good ideas.

I seen this before at a few apartment complexes in Spain, it is a pretty commonplace occurrence. I think it is aimed at discouraging people watching TV and get them out of the apartment spending money.
