I'm looking for suggestions on hiring, or buying of I have, to a suit for my wedding. I've tried the likes of black tie but anything I've tried on looks awful.

Can anyone recommend some shops that cater for stockier guys like me?:D

Have you tried mr big and tall? They could probably recommend somewhere or have one there.

My hubby cannot use Black Tie either, he is beyond normal height so his arms and legs are too long for anything they have.

I advise Louis Copeland, he goes there and they have off the rack suits that their tailors will tailor to fit you correctly (as opposed to Black Ties 'adjustable suits').

He always comes away happy, and the off the rack stuff is not as pricey as you might imagine.

Try Tangos Dress Hire in Temple Bar if you're in Dublin. When my best mate was getting his suit there they had a massive range of sizes and styles, and they tailor on site and really know what they're talking about.

There's a place called Mr XL in swords that's meant to do a good range of sizes, not sure if they do formalwear but it'd be worth checking out.

I got married at the end of June and we used Aston Formal Wear for the suit hire. They were really good and my (then prospective) father in law is pretty big and they were able to sort him out too without any hassle.
