Hello I have a sony bravia TV. With a Hard Drive it records from internal EPG.
This works from the internal saorview tuner.

In order to watch Free TV I have a Grundig sat for free HD box.

I am just wondering does any one know of a cheap way of recording
the free to air programmes through the Hard Drive "through" the TV.

It was suggested to me that you could buy a "DVDRW"??Box and link it to the TV from Gundig box by scart.

I was googling argos and I cant see any of the type of box the guy was telling me about. I am quite sure it very "doable"

Appreciate any adviced you guys might have. Especially from anyone that has done it!

    Many Thanks

    MINDER

1 of these is what you need if you want to have the reliability of recording http://www.satellite.ie/acatalog/Uk-Freesat-receivers-for-Ireland-if-you-already-have-a-sky-dish.html

The sat4free box has probably been gathering dust on a Tesco shelf for 3 or 4 years. Get a refund & use the money to buy a decent up to date PVR, or at least a "PVR capable" box. If you paid what I seen these things priced at recently, you'll be well on your way.

your very good thks , I am aware of this box.Unfortunaely my tv guy split the cable (Duplex?splitter) I have only one cable at kitchen tv (sony)
I have a walker combo i could have put here , but cant becuse of the way its configured. I am very disappointed to hear the sat fot free box appear to be poor quality , although i thought grundig were fairly decent make!
He mentioned this Dvd Recorder idea as a cheap workaround....prob this box tho expensive is the way to go.

Any box with recording via usb would be better than what you have.

@ Skull Murphy: seems the installer supplied the box.
