    Hi All,
I have a Potterton Ultra 2 50 gas boiler, the fan is acting up and not spinning up correctly etc... Service completed and everything is good. I can source a new fan but has anyone a clue on getting someone to fit it, Looking for a installer in Ashbourne and a estimated price to fit the part.

    Thanks
    Darren

www.rgii.ie and put in Ashbourne. Would the rgi who serviced it for you not fit the fan?
How could the service be completed if the fan was not working correctly?

Why can't whoever completed the service install the fan as they were obviously an RGI?

    Hi
I had Bord Gais do the service, he noted the fan was a little iffy and sticking a little - the plan is a silver plan but he said i would expect to pay over 400 euros to replace the fan. I found a replacement for much less online so just need someone to fit it. Will check the RGI site.

    Thanks

So how did he issue a cert and ensure that the boiler was running as per manufacturer's instructions if the fan was a "little iffy and sticking a bit"?

I have never noticed the tick box on the RGII cert that over-rules this if the client is only on the "silver plan".

    Hmmmm......

You have to wear gloves when working on any gas boilers for BG, I thought it was to stop their fingers from getting burnt or cut, but I'v since learnt it's to prevent them from leaving fingerprints at the scene of the crime, gangsters.
